I buy the long rolls of it from Smart Pak Equine and cut them to fit inside those blue rubber medicine boots. I have two boots and put the warm water and Epsom salts in one, slip it on the horse's hoof and soak for 10-15 minutes. Then, I take that boot off and quickly slip on the other boot which has the moistened Animalintex poultice in it, making sure that the hoof doesn't touch the ground and get dirty. Then, I leave the boot on until I'm ready to do the whole drill again - usually when I feed in the am and the pm. That's it and man, has my life been easier since I figured that out! I'm so glad Kola is slimming down - how much weight do you think she's lost?Victoria Cummingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17267314663679137147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8926013554523279624.post-756394380783908562009-07-10T05:33:11.745-07:002009-07-10T05:33:11.745-07:00Your flowers are beautiful!!! It is interesting that they may like watermelon!!! John is allergic to watermelon, and in the summer sometimes people give it to us. I can't eat it all by myself, so now I know who to share it with!!!John and Regina Zdravichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03750649450237309246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8926013554523279624.post-74313148763310048522009-07-08T20:15:22.334-07:002009-07-08T20:15:22.334-07:00I forgot all about feeding watermelon to the horse...I forgot all about feeding watermelon to the horse. We used to do that when we were kids. Hmmm...wonder if my horse will try it? I KNOW Megan's will...they eat anything she gives them-LOL.

My neighbors were just telling me how nice my yard looked last year and then they look at the mess it is this year...pointedly. I just told them I was "letting it go to seed";) I have mowed a couple of times this year, just haven't had the time to do the whole thing at once, so it looks a little raggedy.
But after the rattlesnake encounter last night, I got busy and started wacking weeds along the fenceline today and mowed the whole yard.BrownEyed Cowgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03610547057139295854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8926013554523279624.post-86181781893254699922009-07-08T12:29:23.621-07:002009-07-08T12:29:23.621-07:00I am a new fan of your blog and love your watermel...I am a new fan of your blog and love your watermelon post! I prefer just walking out, grabbing one, throwing it in the air so that is smashes and then watch them devour it! I looked it up to make sure it's safe and it is. I actually have a short video of Kola slurping it. But it is way too short of a video, so next time, I'll video it , but longer and put it up. It's hilarious. I know I have to keep mowing my pasture for all the darned clover this year. I just got some spray to kill the stuff growing up through the bricks on my patio and I'll start there. We have so much mowing to do. My daughter did two paddocks yesterday with the tractor and it took her hours. Glad she does a lot of the work, she's a big help.

Love your lilies it's one of the few things I can't kill either and the best part is they spread and come back every year without replanting.Grey Horse Mattershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05837575441967937196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8926013554523279624.post-91992249056215745782009-07-07T18:19:26.905-07:002009-07-07T18:19:26.905-07:00I am struggling with my own weedy lawn...have no t...I am struggling with my own weedy lawn...have no time to work on it! Do you think I need to mow MY lawn???

Your horses are more spoiled than mine. I give them just the watermelon rind. Now, I guess I have to buy some extra just for them.
