Breyer Collecting

I've been collecting Breyer Horse models since I was a little kid. Which would be the early 70's. Some of the horses I inherited from my older sister and those would be models from the 60's. The first one I ever got was Man O' War, famous thoroughbred. And then they just kept coming. The latest ones were a pair of paint minis. One of my favorite one's gifted to me as a kid was Yellow Mount, a well known Paint stallion. They're all packed on the shelf like sardines in a can. I'm now trying to talk my family into letting me start collecting Painted Ponies. Now those are cool, but I'm sure I'll never turn down a Breyer.

What a great collection you have! I wish I still had mine from when I was a child. I don't even know what happened to them. They weren't Bryers they were made out of some kind of metal and some were porcelin. I only have two left and I treasure them. Your post on the two old mares made me well up with tears. Aren't they lucky to have such a nice place to retire at, some aren't that lucky.

Thank-you, I don't know how I managed to keep them all. I'm only missing one and I have no idea where it might be. Jess can be so tough on the outside, but she really has a soft heart. Don't tell her I said so though, she'd probably deny it. ;)

Painted ponies are definitely all the rage but I'll stay loyal to my breyers. Of course, if those painted ponies came in an Arabian version I might be tempted. lol

Yep, we've got the breyers and painted pony collections going. (They make great birthday presents!)
