The Tails of Woe

When I went out to feed this morning, I realized that the girls' tails were shorter in some areas than in others. Suddenly very obvious to me. More obvious on Kola because her hair is more silky and Misty's is wavy curly, but both had looked like the bad barber of Seville had gotten to them. It suddenly came to me what was going on.

I was going to say they ate each other's tails, but the photos tell the tale...(oops!) I hate it when that happens to perfectly beautiful tails and manes.

I still don't know what to say except I totally understand your frustration.

The horses often back their bottoms up against the fence where the goats are. I think they sleep there as well, so the goats obviously take advantage of this. By spring I predict stubby tails on my girls. Naughty goats! After our cold snap, I think I'll try to put a tarp up between the fences. Naughty, naughty goats!
