In Like A Lamb

Here it is March 1st and I'm still using my winter hay moving device. I would really like a nice big sled like the ice fisherman use. Maybe next winter. Harry rode it out that far then jumped ship. The first show in the area is today and I didn't even feel like going. There is a 2 day one at the end of the month that I'd rather go to. A lot of my friends will be at that one, they are all out of town right now. My friend Sue is out in Las Vegas for a show and her son is at college so she sent her broodmare over to foal out. She is due March 6th and looks like she should go on schedule. The rest of her horses are due in late April and they should be home.

We had beautiful weather for about ten days. Last night it rained...no dumped...buckets on us. This morning there's fresh snow on the hill :( I'm ready for spring!

We are getting hammered with snow today, up to 16 inches! It wasn't bad this morning when I was at the stable feeding but now it's almost zero visibility. I have been trying to get some pictures but the snow is just coming down to fast! We're going to go do some snowmobiling tomorrow in all this nice fresh snow! Yippee!

We are supposed to get the rain/snow tommorrow. This year we had a new record set for snowfall. I'm ready to head south. Callie, I think you need a couple of cats. Next time I come by I'll leave a few. I think I'm down to around eleven or so.

hehe--- we are in for an amazingly beautiful weekend here in the southland... and Heaven KNOWS we need more GOOD horse folks here!!! ;) Come on down guys... :)

It does make me wonder though. When I lived in Tundra Country, every time March came in this sweetly, we were in for BIG trouble as it went OUT... Hope that is not the case this year.

Stay warm and safe up there guys!

The sled is ingenious. I'll bet it is better than pushing a wheelbarrow through snow, which is what I do.

N.M. Thanks, I switched to the sled for that reason. The wheelbarrow would get stuck in the ruts or I would have to drag it behind me hitting the back of my heels. The ones that the ice fisherman use has a flat bottom and could haul 2 bales. If I don't head south by next winter I will get one. We are looking at property in OK.
