The Opossum Saga Continues

Fed up with my complaining of the opossum continuing to visit us and while I have worked my usual Friday and Saturday night shifts, Stephen went out to Walmart to get us a pellet gun, of which we will be getting heavier pellets tomorrow. I was surprised to hear this afternoon that when I awoke he had popped it in it's bottom twice. He knew he had gotten it because the first one he saw it's fur move and the second one made it jump. However, I believe that we have a family here as we were certain that we had scared it off, another had returned this evening and as I grabbed the gun and had a straight shot at the bastard, the gun jammed. Damn!!!!!! The lady behind the gun counter assured us that five pellets ought to do it in as it has the same pop of a ".22". I went on a mission this evening. Where Steve doesn't feel right about killing it, I was not sure about it and I now am certain. I'm done! I'm running them off, even if it's in a garbage bag, permanently. I could not find him this evening, but I am sure he will turn up again tomorrow and I will be armed and ready. Stephen is giggling at me as I'm sitting in the extension with gun and goggles donned and ready. I will get that grey rat and his kin! The video is my Hubs commentary on why they have taken up here.

Possums are my arch enemy. Not only do they eat my chickens, they gave Gunner EPM.

I actually stabbed one to death with a pitch fork once! Good Luck.

Tom, you are right! We are doofuses and we miss all of you guys as well!

Kathy, I remember reading about Gunner.......I plan on unloading the pellets on them today. I think we have three hanging around here!

I hope you get them. I ran one over with the car once, my mom was mad because I did not swerve. I had to get back in her good graces by catching and releasing a couple in the forest preserve. What she doesn't know won't hurt her. I'll get the next one.

Well, my husband just called me down and handed me the gun and sure enough the big grey rat was on the deck. I popped him in the ass from about 12 feet away. He just stopped and looked at me. I shot again and the third made him jump and plumit off the deck! Husband was laughing!

Callie - yes I was laughing out loud at your mad professor Brit husband. I did again just now seeing that picture again. I have to admit, the accent did win me over in the attached video. Otherwise, I would have been making some very hairstyle and local yokel jokes.
