What Is Up With This Weather??!!!

Just what is up with this weather? Is this global warming? Or is it simply a weather anomaly year? Yesterday, it was 88*F and last night it dropped with wind chills well into the 30's! I was going to ride today, but it was so cold I couldn't feel my fingers! And tonight they are talking about frost. For cripes sakes, it is the end of May. I know that because of the excessive rain and snow this year our local farmers are nearly a month late in planting and there is still some flooding in the fields and it's been dry for a while now. There are now permanent ponds where there never were before. It has driven my girls nuts today and so windy. I took the video, just a bit late of the real crazy behavior. I had just gotten out of a nice hot bath and was starting to get dressed and looked out the window to see Kola rearing and running and twisting and bucking with Misty right behind her. It was hilarious. I ran down with the camera in only my bra and a towel and ran outside to shoot the hilarity and of course it had wound down and I was freezing! The great shots always happen at the most in opportune moments.

I was driving home from Santa Barbara through rain and snow when we just had 95-degree weather the week before. I blanketed the horses tonight. I was annoyed that the wet weather prevented me from riding my horses during my week off from work, but at least I didn't have to worry about watering the pasture.

I'm not sure who's crazier, the girls running around or you out in your bra and a towel taking pictures of them. lol

Our garden looked like a disaster-zone yesterday after severe winds for two days. I've never seen anything like it before. (Didn't see any neighbours running past in bra and towel though!) lol.

Girl I have no idea! It was weird here yesterday as well! It was a hot and humid day and then all of a sudden the wind was blowing very hard (limbs falling everywhere!) and the temp dropped at least 15 degrees and it started pouring down rain. Rained that way for about a 1 1/2 hours and then out came the sun and hot and humid again! LOL!
I agree with Mikael-your girls or you in your bra and towel! LOL! But I have been known to run outside in almost anything (or nothing) to check on the horses!! We can all relate we have all been there whether we admit it or not is the question! LOL!!

Wow, that is crazy weather, but not as crazy as a lady running around outside in a bra and towel. I'll bet you were cold, wooohooo.

This crazy weather has even heavily pregnant, 24y/o Woofer bucking and running. OMG-I was out there in a winter coat and flip flops(quickest to slip on) trying to get her to calm down. Goofy old girl.

The weather has been going crazy every where I am with kdwhorses. It's hot and humid, then raining like mad, the hot and humid, then windy beyond all belief.

I had to laugh too!! In a towel and a bra!! LOL!! If those horses only knew what we would do for them, they would be in the houses and we would be living in the barns, LOL!!

Watching that video made me think of how scared my poor horses probably were during the hurricane that hit down here. It must have been horrible.

I hope you got a chance to warm up!!
