Just Thursday........

These two are becoming inseparable! This little couch sits behind me and my desk. They stay by my side.

Did some one ring the dinner bell?

Don't start without me!

On a different note. I am glad that we fertilized and weed killed the pasture. Should have done it sooner, much sooner! The pasture is so nice now, I've allowed them a couple of hours a day out there.

Some of our poor creatures are just getting quite old. Last weekend, we thought this would be old Fido's last week with us, but he has perked up and I think he'll be with us for a little while longer. And Jynxy, one of the kitties, is about 18 yrs old and I think she's failing fast. She has suddenly lost weight and seems a bit confused. She's always been an indoor kitty and now I keep finding her outside. She also has started Kussmal breathing. I'm trying to make her as comfortable as I can, but I think we may need to bring her into the Vet for her last moments. I think she is in renal failure. Of course this all starts to transpire as I return to work for the weekend. I think this will be a rough autumn for these babies and us.

I'm sorry I haven't been visiting a whole of you as I've been busy. The house is clean and Steve and I had a busy week with multiple appointments to the University, the insurance agent and the dude with the Cumberland stove. Also, I've been busy with a few crafts. Making something special for our girls for Christmas.

Your two look so pretty coming in for their dinner! I run like that when someone rings the dinner bell! ha!
Oh, I'm so sorry you are facing decision making concerning some of your pets. It really is hard but you will know when it is time. 18 years is a long time to have a kitty! What a wonderful life she has had with you!
We fertilize our pasture too and it makes such a difference. It cuts down on the weeds and makes what grass we have out there do better. We have so much clay in our soil here it's hard for good thick grass to grow. Plus my three four legged mowers keep it right down to the roots practically!

I do hope you get some time to slow down. And I too love it when the pasture is all cut, weeded, and fertilized. It always looks so nice and clean cut.

And I am so sorry to hear about your old kitty!! That is a hard choice.

Oh dear! We had to put one of our cat down last year due to Kidney Failure. I was devestated... I still am.

I hope the rest of your time with your pets are fufilling and happy.

It's so hard when our "babies" get old and the time is near. hugs...

Your dogs are so cute together.
How is Flash's hoof?

As someone who is constantly cleaning up cat pee and dog droppings from our dear old pets, I know how you feel. Pepper needs to have her rear end lifted up every time she wants to stand up. Her back legs just aren't strong enough. And my darling Black Kitty (BK) has taken to using any clothes that I leave lying around our bedroom as a litter box at night. At least it forces me to keep my room clean! I dread the day when we have to make the hard decision, but I also know that I don't want either of them to suffer.

OMG, you are on a sad streak, what with the hoof problems and all of this with your sweet angels. It is so hard to watch our pets age. My heart goes out to you.

Thanks, All. Jynx did pass away this weekend and Steve and I buried her last night in the back garden. The hoof issues with Flash are Jess's, however, I know that she is greatful for the kind words and that Flash is one of her favorites.
