Still Cowy

The mare out in front starring intently at the corriantes is Sweet Stacy Oak. She is Spider's half sister. I was forced to retire her in 2003 when one of my ex-shoers trimmed her too short and crippled her. We fought with white line disease and other issues, she stayed sound until then. She still wants to get at a cow, she kept creeping towards them. I moved the calf's to my mom's pug pen to eat the grass down. Spider and Cat were pretty excited over seeing a cow on a purple rope. I thought Cat was going to become a jumper. They aren't used to seeing cows on a rope.

They never do loose that do they. If they have it they have it. I was once told that if you had a roping horse and the horse was a real roping horse. That if you gave it 5 years off and got it back on a cow, the horse would still know what to do. If that made any sense.

That is sad Callie...she is a beautiful mare. My horse is fascinated by cows too. Sometime I would like to trailer over to a local barn in the area that teaches "sorting" and see if she enjoys that.

Photochic, The mare, Stacy is Jess's. I rode her once on a short little trail ride with Jess and Gerald. She's a funny girl. She bares her teeth when approaced to feed her in a stall and acts all mean..LOL...And she's my nonhorsey daughter Zoe's favorite. For some reason Zoe's favorites are always Jess's "out of the ordinary" behaved mares...LOL

Andrea your right they never do. Spider has been put up for a couple years and comes back out and wins. He is a trained roping horse too. If they have true cow they can do just about anything cow related. They are just like people that are natural athletes. Photogchic, if you get the chance to do that you probably will both have a blast. Warning it can become addicting.

Oh that is terrible, about her hoof! And now your other baby has a bad one too! Poor horses! Poor you! Looks like you are still taking very good care of them!! I hope the shoe will help. I think once a cow horse ALWAYS a cow horse!
