For All My Horse Blogging Sisters............

I know with the recent election and the results, there have been a variety of opinions out there, some optimistic, others not so. I want you all to know, that whatever our opinions are and feelings are that your opinion is and always has been welcome on this blog! I don't care if we have differences. I believe that what we have in common, our horses and love for them far out ways any differences in opinions. So if you choose not to visit me anymore because we have differences that is your choice. I still choose to visit all of you whether we agree or disagree, because to me, it doesn't matter.

If you were standing right here in front of me, I'd wrap you up in a HUGE Paint Horse Sister hug!

You actually caused me to get a little teary eyed. And I rarely ever cry.
It's just that I've felt ostracized from quite a few bloggers that I consider friends, stemming from my post speaking out about my concerns about our new leader.

These same bloggers criticize those who disagree with them and who voted differently, chastising them for not trying to get along, because we can't keep our mouth shut and follow the status quo.

What I can't wrap my litte brain around is how it's ok for them to gloat and chat excitedly about the person they voted for, while criticizing the person I voted for, while I'm not permitted to speak at all.

If only the tables were turned, then these people would see the double standard they are presenting.

Thank you, my friend, for rising above all that and recognizing that this country is truly still about freedom.

Hugs to you!
~Lisa

Good for you. I figure the horses don't care who we respectively voted for. We vote because we have the right and inclination to express our views. The only ones who shouldn't get to complain (however it all turns out) are the ones who were eligible to exercise that right & chose not to.

But having a different political opinion is no reason for anyone to get nasty because of someone else's political views. It's their loss, if they're that petty.

I expect the next few years (months?) will prove the situation out, and until then.... well, I voted for all the good it did me....

Aww shucks Callie... I'll still visit with yas, no matter what. As we decided in emails a little bit ago, there is just no stopping a friendship between some folks.

Some people get things all twisted and their priorities get a bit well, FUBAR IMO.

This election brought about sides of people that otherwise we would not have known about. Maybe THEY did not realize it was such a passionate issue with them, either. It was hard, reading blanket statements from either side, and I admit, I skipped a lot of them. Still do, actually. (I prefer to find things out on my own... in my own time... quietly.)

Laughing Orca, I dont really know you, but I feel your discomfort. And I understand it completely. I'd like to extend a political free invite to you, anytime, on either of my blogs. Maybe you and I will turn out being pals too.

Back to Callie- I am not sure what brought this on, but all I can say is no matter what, I love you and Steve dearly, and appreciate you both!

What difference does it make who anyone voted for? I don't care if your candidate lost or won. No one should be ostracized for their political views. We are all, as you say, horse sisters who love our horses and do the best we can for them. The country and the state it is in now is important but now that the election is over, we still have manure to muck and horses to groom and feed etc...
Life goes on.

Of course we all have different opinions, that's what makes the world go round so I feel bad for those that can't accept someone that has one different then their own. Yes, we are horse people and we have that love and respect for our four legged friends in common so why can't people let it go at that???? I just don't have the time or energy to get into that kind of snit over politics or anything else for that matter, have bigger things at stake like family, health, my horses, relationships etc to put my energy into. Great post Callie!

Thank-you, Horse Sisters! I for one am glad to have such good internet friends and sources of information that helps me take better care of my girls. I enjoy reading your blogs, I've learned a lot and laughed a lot and felt for you, even if not in person. I plan on keepin' that way! :)

Hi Callie!
I have never visited you before, but I read Mrs. Mom's comment on Lisa's blog, and I just had to come over and see what was going on...lol!!!

This is a great post, and something that people definitely need to keep in mind when talking about touchy subjects such as politics.

I agree with you 100%...it is the horses that bring us together, and just like a "real" family or community, we will have our disagreements, but they should not get in the way of our friendship.

Anywho...glad I stopped by!

Thanks, Melanie, for stopping by and I'm glad you did! And I agree, it is the horses that bring us together!

I am not sure how I feel. I hope this new Pres. can get things in order. I will say a lot of prayers. That is about all we can do.

And Lisa, I still love you!!!

Awww, Callie, I just trotted back over here again to read your comment, and then saw all the supportive and friendly comments from your other readers and I'm floored.
This gave me a new faith in human nature in blogland.
The response to your wonderful post touched my heart.

Mrs. Mom,
thanks and I think I may take you up on that. I've seen you around on the horse blogs, but have been worried about visiting in case I end up at another great blog that I MUST visit every day. lol!

Melanie,
You're so sweet. Always worried about everyone getting along and not wanting anyone to be upset or get their feelings hurt. What a true friend you are. Sure wish we lived closer. wah!

Andrea, Awwww... How sweet are you, my friend. I love you, too :)

Well Callie, I hope you'll forgive me for sabotaging your blog. I just want to say thanks for being such a great blog friend.
I, too, wish you and I lived closer. I'd love to cozy up in front of that cute pellet stove of yours sipping a hot toddy while chatting and laughing with you while watching the snow falling outside.

And wouldn't we look great riding down the lane together on our painted ponies? :)

I wasn't allowed to vote (ummm... because I'm not American, NOT because I'm a criminal! lol)
But this election y'all had certainly did seem to cause some ruffled feathers.
Just want you to know that I'm still coming by to visit. You can't get rid of me! Oh wait, you probably could some how... lol
Well as long as I'm still invited, I'm still visiting! :)

Horses don't care who was elected, and I don't care who you voted for.
Thanks for being honest! You are a dear!
