Our son, Tom, took his long time girlfriend, Sophie, to the New Forest for holiday last spring in May. They took some photos of this wild New Forest pony mare and foal. Of course I'm going to steal it for my blog, aren't I, having experienced these ponies years ago when we were last in England.

I love the New Forest Ponies. They are an adorable couple.
That mare and foal are beautiful. Do they just let them run wild in the populated areas?? And, yes they do make a lovely couple.

Yes they do C-ingspots. I believe that they bring them in during the spring for check-up and vacs, but yes they wander around the whole area and you have to drive carefully and I can tell you from personal experience that when you run out of carrots, they get very pissed off. LOL!
Sophie is gorgeous! Very classic and elgant features. They make a cute couple, too.
Maybe you will create a post about the history of the New Forest ponies? I'd love to know more about them.
