Welcome To This Frozen World...................

Their water is full and heated............

Their blanketed and dry..................

I've piled straw in front of their wind break..........lots of it!

The shelter too is piled with tons of straw.........If they'll stand in there when the winds begin.

Lots of extra hay to keep their furnaces running...........

Our neighbors trailering some horses to the boarding facility down the road from us.

A view coming up one of the nearby hills.

On our way home from a day out yesterday........
By tomorrow, it will be -35 to -45*F with the windchill. I dread this!

Stay warm Callie & Steve. Hope that this does just work its way through for the next couple of days and warm up (20 F!) by the weekend.

Thanks, Ranchette, I'm hoping that by Saturday morning we'll be in a more normal winter pattern. If it gets back to 20, it'll feel like a heat wave!

Wow, you're really getting hit hard with the temps. The girls look all toasty, I hope they eat lots of hay and stay out of the wind. I thought we were going to be frozen tomorrow, but we'll only be at 2 degrees. I feel sorry for you guys. Hopefully, in a few days this will break and warm up. Snuggle up.

And to think I was cold this morning with it being in the high 20's and then it warmed up to 55 today. I just get cold looking at your horses. I am glad you bed them well and give them lots of hay. You are such a good mom to your horses. And you stay warm too!!

We are in the same boat -- the high temp tomorrow is supposed to be 2!! We will be below zero with wicked wind chills. Character building weather here in the midwest!

Too cold for me! We hit single digits last month...totally out of character for us (although we did it about 10 years ago as well) and 20 felt like hula skirt weather!

Great pics. Thank you.

Oh - those are some nasty temps. We've had the same thing since Monday. -35F to -45F is really really nasty. Sounds like the horses are well prepared. We do all of the same preparations here and it seems to work well for the most part.

Stay warm!

Hopefully Canada will send some WARM weather our way soon - it's warmer in Saskatoon than it is down here! :)

But at least it's not a wet cold.... LOL! We have actual temps in the -20's this morning, but they're promising it will be better by afternoon. Hope you guys are warmer by then, too!

It's really very cold. The roads are white and it does not seem to be a problem to drive. I suppose you have special tyres.
Here the mornings are cold but after the sun shines. This afternoon, it seemed the spring had come. It was warm. But it may not last long.
See you soon

So far, so good, gals! We are managing with tonight being the worst and a warm up on the way.

Le Cheval, It's called an All Wheel Drive Jaguar X-type or a 4-wheel drive Dodge 1500 truck. Need something like those to live here. LOL

HOly cow, I'm cold just looking at these pics! Man that is COLD!! Tonight it is supposed to be around freezing and that way for a couple of days. I'm not going to complain we really need a freeze for a couple of days to wart off these dam bugs, fleas, etc.!
Keep warm girl!
