I Win, I Win!

Needless, to say about a week ago, I put Miss Kola on hoof supplement, of which she turned her nose up at. I had come out with some elaborate plans to get her to eat it, since I've drastically cut the grain down. I've also added the very same regimen to Miss Misty, figured it wouldn't hurt, well except my now more frequent farrier visits, HA! I have been adding a little generic cup of applesauce to their feed and supplements to get them to eat it and even with that, I was still getting the cold shoulder, then I stood there in front of the feeders while they attempted to stomach their new regimen and they weren't allowed out into the pasture until all was finished and today was the day!. They both gobbled their mixtures down in seconds flat! HA! I've finally starved them out and made my point! A little hoof care while eating and then it was "Whee!" pasture time. now to get crackin' on the rest of the chores! Yikes! Dead batteries, lawn mowers and a dead car. Crap!

Good for you for waiting them out, they will eventually do anything for food. Come to think of it most critters will. Have a great week getting batteries fixed.

Ha, way to get them responding! Food is oh so important after a while. Also, I know most of us horse lovers use it, so thought I'd let you know that I found some pretty great coupons on Absorbine products: www.absorbine.com/offers.html. I can't wait to try out UltraShield; the stuff is supposed to work wonders! Take care.

I always had that problem with Divna -- she can tell if there is even a single milligram of some type of medicine in her feed. I finally just had to start mixing it with molasses, sucking it up into an empty dewormer dispenser, and squirting it into her mouth. I think your method is better though. I hope they keep eating it on their own! Much easier that way....

Fortunately, my Boys have been pretty good about eating supplements. My PJ was very picky, though, so with him, I had to resort to the applesauce in a dose syringe approach.

Glad you succeeded at last. Now, let's hope the hoof stuff has good results.

I use the old applesauce trick too! Also molasses, that works if nothing else will. Used it on Skippy to worm him. Made him a molasses and wormer sandwich and left it in his dish at night and it would be gone in the morning. The things we have to do!!!

Wow, I feel really fortunate. I've never had any problems with supplements. Lucky or do I have hogs for horses?
