My usual bareback wit bridle this time on Miss Misty.........
And.....................
And.........My first solo on Kola since I bought her 3yrs ago and test rode at the place of purchase!
My confidence is returning................
Elated that it went so well! There are things I have to work on, however, seeing and feeling that I won't get killed by her and she was stellar, that is after she got used to my weight, will bring me to working on the control I need to regain. Anyway, it was a "Woot,Woot! " day!

Good news Callie! They look great, you look happy! :)
Congrats! I totally understand the confidence thing! I've been dealing with it, with my Paint Fritzy. After 2 years, I finally rode her last week, twice! Confidence/fear is so hard to overcome!
I just got back on my mare after a 4 month layoff from an injury...take it slow and make every ride a good experience for you both and you will get there!
High 5 girl!!
Nice your confidence come back !
But, even when you are confident, put a helmet on your head.
Congratulations! You look delighted in the picture and you should be!
Woot! Woot! Backatcha! Congratulations. You both look terrific. A good horse will build back your confidence and Kola certainly looks to be one.
I second LeCheval. Always ride with a helmet. A doctor once told me "We can fix almost anything else that breaks, but we can't fix heads." *"Mom" lecture over.*
Congratulations! I can honestly say I know how great you feel because I experienced the same thing recently. Your picture says it all, woot, woot! Hope you have many more safe rides and really listen to everyone about a helmet.
Confidence - it's hard work to get back. Slow and easy!. I just bought a 16.3 HH 2000 LB Percheron/ Belgian Mare. I have to take a deep breath to calm myself every time I'm with her.
Yippee! I am so happy for you! It's great to see you riding.
Thanks all for all the encouraging comments. I really do appreciate it. :)
I, too, have confidence issues, since I injured my back last August. I haven't been on a horse since then. I am hoping that Quad will be my riding horse. At this point, I'm not even sure if I can ride again as my right leg is still sore.
Yes! So cool. High five girl. Now take yourself shopping and get that helmet...I love my Troxel Sierra. I really excited to hear you are doing stuff with Kola...always thought he was so gorgeous. Can't wait to follow your progress.
Congrats, Callie! You look so happy - and I second all those comments about the helmet - It can't hurt to wear one and it certainly would hurt if you fell on your head without one.
You know, John Lyons says all fear is is common sense in disguise and that you have to know when it is right for you and only you know this....I can understand fully - I was not as lucky (broken pelvis) but I was fortunate to have a horse like yours that you did trust to get me back in the saddle - I just got a new horse on Saturday big 15.3 gelding my husband bought me - I've yet to swing the leg over, I want to get to know him better from the ground first but things seem to be working out and we are progressing to the riding part. Good Luck - love your blog and hope you will stop by the Ranch and visit - door is always open!
