Need To Vent.................
Recently, I suffered a slight setback in my MS, probably brought on by the flu, more than likely the H1N1 flu as it hard and almost 4 weeks later, I'm still recovering. This literally has knocked me off balance even more than usual and prompted a visit with my Neurologist and subsequently another MRI needed to be scheduled, part of way it is, I'm afraid. Under law, I'm allowed to take FMLA, of which I did. The day I called into work, I said I would be taking FMLA, I then called Employee Health and told them about it and received via email, the paperwork to be filled out. That very same week, I saw my Neurologist and by the following weekend, scheduled to work, I was back with paperwork in hand and also spoke to my Supervisor. I needed to take this FMLA without pay as I have vacation coming up and need my PPL for that. Of course, payroll missed the boat and I spoke with them this past Monday and it has been sorted, emailed my boss and there doesn't seem to be a big problem. Now this has required many a phone call, running from appointment to appointment all at a time when Steve and I are trying to prepare for a second interview with Immigration. At the cost of $3,000 so far for the attorney hired. And a cash out of pocket for another Immigration health check by the Immigration appointed Doctor at the last minute as his previous one from 7yrs ago that they refused to accept from us had expired. We feel relatively prepared and had to impose on 7 friends and family to write a notarized affidavits and get it to us within a week's time. Not to mention, copies of everything our 7yr marriage has entailed, more than one can imagine. So you can imagine the stress this household has been under the past two weeks. Today, I receive a "snotty gram" in the mail from Employee Health that I have "disrupted the organization" with my health issue. And that in the future, I should do this and do that, the "this and that" of which I did. I am pissed! I had a book of diseases in which to choose from, and I chose MS, because I thought that could get me off of work more often, what do you think? Good choice? I really enjoy being off balance, fatigued, over heated and oh how much fun it is to get a chemo shot every week into the muscle, which gives me flu like symptoms for 24 hours and a raging headache. YES, I chose MS as my disease, just to disrupt the organization I work for. Really, I did. Fuck !

Good luck to you and Steven on everything with the immigration. I hope you're feeling better. After all you've been through I don't blame you for venting, what a bunch of jerks. Take a deep breathe and have some chocolate, maybe that would help a little.
We love ya Callie, even if you are dizzy, off balance, and have headaches. :)
Prayers going out for a SMOOTH immigration thingy, and also for a recovery for YOU. And work? Dude... I'd say screw 'em, but man that would just be... well, gross! ;)
Chin up baby. You'll be OK!!
Once again, the health decision people...don't know what else to call them...act like totally unfeeling idiots.
Your rant is well warranted.
Good luck with the immigration paperwork, etc. Nothing like wending your way through the brureaucracy...*sigh*
Good luck this time round with immigration... 7 years? Can't believe they're being such PITAs.
As for you crap-o-gram e-mail. I just hate when "The Man" acts like that. As IF you chose MS and as IF you want to suffer those setbacks.
Wankers!!
What is it about people in HR? Almost every single one I've ever met has been excruciatingly difficult to work with! Hang in there!
good luck with the immigration. We do love you... I hope that you feel better.
Maybe a visit to HR is in order. They have no right to treat you that way....medical leave is there for a reason. It is great that you have that "snotty gram" in writing. I would be walking into to HR with that and saying 'we have a problem."
Hang in there girl. Good luck with immigration stuff.
Sorry you're not feeling good. $#@%!!! Get well soon, and good luck to you with the immigration crap.
I am so sorry you have to go through this. I hope it all works out, and that you feel better real soon!
Also hope the immigration thing can get settled quickly.
"Disrupted the organization"????? I could not believe it when I read that!!! Incredible!!! So much for compassion in the health care industry..............
That's outrageous! Yesterday I informed my boss that the Vice President's nephew hasn't shown up for work for the past three weeks, yet somehow felt he was entitled to charge the company for several weeks of work that he never did. He had nothing to show for it, didn't complete a single task I gave him, and I could prove that he hadn't even logged into his computer in several weeks. I would think that would be grounds for firing, but I guess they're just turning the other cheek, paying him, and pretending like it didn't happen. Then there's you with a legitimate excuse, and you get spanked.
That person who sent you the email is a MORON!!!
I hope you get to feeling better soon and all goes well with immigration.
Snort, choke, gag...good thing none of us decided to delve into our real opinions on immigration.;)
I'm with BEC, whoever sent that email is a moron. Like you'd choose this.
I hope you get to feeling better, soon, this is a tough time sounds like. Big hugs to both of you. You'll make it thru this!
