Although, My Horses............

did NOT seem to appreciate the "horse" jolly ball, as evidenced by the "OMG! It's a horse eating monster!!!!!" reaction from my girls..........

As I kicked it around a bit in the pasture............

They certainly were not pleased.................

Not pleased at all................

But, BUT! The dogs certainly were having fun with it!

Especially, Spot , the border collie

Who cannot resist a ball of any sort............ever

The jolly ball did end up in the house, however, I placed it center of the pool table where Spot cannot get to it.

I've had the same reaction from our horses when I play with the jolly ball - they run and buck, but don't seem really too scared by the whole thing.

That is too cute! My sister got one for her mares, especially directed at one that gets bored and plays with her grain bucket. But they never touched it! Maybe those giant horsey kongs, that you hide treats in? Maybe that'll get their interest! :)

Spot IS a Border Collie and will find a way to get it.

I wonder if you just left it out there if they would eventually play with it. I've never had one for the herd I just figure there would be trouble with all of them one way or another.

My Chance actually plays with the ball...I've seen him.

The other guys just tend to ignore it.

Well, at least Spot can appreciate a good toy. It takes horses a while to warm up them. First, the ball has to be the enemy, then the horses have to circle it and play a game to see who is bravest. Eventually, someone sniffs it and runs a way. Before you know it, they are stomping on it.

I bought a jolly ball for my horse, a long time ago. I think she nuzzled it, once. I got so excited because she actually gave it a little attention. I don't think she ever minded it again.

I have never had a horse willing to play with one of those toys. I figured mine were just lazy bums. Well, at least Spot enjoyed it!

Spot must be in heaven with that jolly ball.....He is gonna run the pads off his feet chasin it lol.
I gave one of those to my stud and he stomped it ripped off the handle and dropped both pieces over the gate. He seems to like detergent jugs better for some reason.
