Of course neither one is too happy about it, but after continually going backward as soon as it gets cold again, I decided that she will just have to cope with stall rest. A quick trip to get some straw and to TSC for something to throw her hay in and a 16 gallon heated water bucket, this where we will now stand.

Poor mare. Well, it sounded like she needed it. Does she like those dangly toy/treat things, or jolly balls? Or would she benefit from more frequent visits from you? Hopefully you'll be able to find some way to make it more bearable for her.
Hope she starts to improve!
This wont help, but I know how you feel, and Sonny knows how Misty feels!!
Time heals amazingly well. ;) Breathe deep, and give her a cookie from me please!
HUGS to you though!!!
Sometimes it's the best thing for healing and not re-injuring themselves.
Get better soon Misty!
Hang in there Mom. I know you must be worried.
((((HUGS))))

Maybe this will be what it takes to get her on the right track now. Best wishes!
I sure hope the stall rest helps!!
Hang in there!!
It is a nice big shed and she has close contact with her friends. She will be just fine, and, if she is as sore as you describe, probably quite content to just hang out on some nice footing with no need to move a lot.
Isn't it the pits to have to be dealing with this stuff in the wintertime?! Why couldn't things happen in the summer???? Poor little mare, I do hope things start to improve for her soon. We have our appointment for surgery on Jan. 5th. We take Nick down on the 4th for his work up, they operate the 5th and then come home the 6th or the 7th. We will stay right down there with him, I just can't leave him and come home and then go back and get him!!!!! Wish they could have done it here but in my small town they just aren't equipped to do this kind of surgery. Give your girl some hugs and cookies for me!!!
Hope everything is going well with the injury and she's feeling better by now. Just wanted to drop by and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy healthy New Year!
