More Happening's From Today........

Our Redheaded Woodpecker has returned. Of course Stephen just refilled the bird feeders and all the birds are coming in droves.

As you can see, just after two weeks on Mina's weight loss program, she is beginning to once again take the shape of a dog rather than that of a beached Manatee...........

The evening Hay Dance begins..........

Only slight distractions from dogs in the field.

Does that thing belong there?

And Misty's knee today. Think we're pretty much back to normal. Hard for me to judge totally as it wasn't until her injury that I began inspecting it so closely, but she seems to be doing fine and this after being de-stalled for a few weeks now. Still moving forward, pushing Kola around and back to her normal self.

Hay that knee looks normal!

My mom was a champion collie breeder, until she passed last year. When her dogs needed to loose a few pounds they went on the "green bean" diet. She would cut their food amount down a bit and replace the cut amount with canned green beans. Said it filled them up so they were not hungry but did not add any more calories to their diet.

The pup is looking quite svelte--comparatively speaking.

Everyone looks so content there, including the woodpecker. All's right in your world, that's for sure.

A beached manatee? I'll bet Mina wouldn't like that crack, she's a fine figure of a dog and looking good.Seriously, you should see my two, what a couple of fluffy (fat) hairballs they look like.

Her knee is looking good.

I need to get my chubby dog on a diet...the skin on her tummy is stretched tight...little sausage dog.

Hey Callie- I wouldn't have noticed those feet if you hadn't said anything ;) And they don't look bad. Sonny's need to be done too,and I have not done them yet thanks to the muck and mud. That and the wind-- all I can see is one of those HUGE pine cones come hurtling down from the very top of the tree and smashing into him (or me) and knocking us out.....

The knee is looking good though!
And so is Mina!! Jo the Wonder Nanny Dog has been dieting a tad of late too. And she is NOT impressed!!

Always enjoy your pictures of the horses and the other animals. Could you come up here and put me on a diet with Mina?!!!! Misty's knee looks good, I bet she's glad to be off stall rest. I can't wait to have Nick off stall rest. I hand walk him but now I have a nasty cold and it's hard for me to get up there to do it. Thankfully I have some friends that help me out. Next week he can be turned out in the arena for a while each day. Yay!!

Isn't it amazing how much time we spend looking at our horses' knees and feet and how happy it makes us when they finally look good - so pleased that she's made it through. Don't be so hard on Mina. She's much cuter than any manatee I've ever seen.
