Today's Winter Storm Brings.............

Kola's usual dinner time or anytime "feeding" antics, which brings me great enjoyment making her wait...............

Besides of which, it gives a bit of exercise prior to her stuffing her face.......Which she needs....... She is such a dork! My animals aren't spoiled at all are they...........

This evening's shot of Misty's knee.........Left knee, still looking pretty good at this point. And I can tell by her actions within the stall, she is getting ready to be done with it. Next week, we'll start hand walking..........

The winter storm has also brought out dozens of birds to the feeders. I mean dozens. This is one of the two female Cardinals at the feeder. Stephen has named Mrs.Special.

The male Cardinal was there this evening as well. Stephen has named him Mr.Special. We believe he has his own harem going on as we have seen at 2 females and only one male. Even the Blue jay was there this evening. Stephen has named the Blue jay, Mr.Angry.

The bazillion year old Christmas cactus continues to bloom like crazy.
On a "Bad" Note, a very bad note. Stephen was approved back in September for his green card. We were told to wait, it will be here. I spoke to our attorneys back in the end of November, asking we need to do any further inquiry as it hasn't shown up yet. We were advised to wait until January. So, today, after hours of to put it plainly, bullshit, I was able to speak to an actual human at Immigration to inquire about this situation, which should no longer be a situation. Mind you we have spent 3 grand on an Immigration specialist attorney out of Chicago. And low and behold, they do not have this approval in the computer system........Marvelous! Can ANYBODY, I mean anybody in the government do their f-ing job???????????? This lady was kind enough to fire off an email to the Milwaukee office explaining situation and asking why this hasn't been pursued. I called our attorney and we will give Immigration until Monday to respond to me and then we fork out another 500 bucks for the attorney to start pressing buttons. All the while, our British family wants to know our itinerary.........which we cannot give until we have this in hand.......... Honestly, I have never in my life been more pissed and frustrated! I had to jump through hoops to get vacation time for this. We have forked out literally thousands of dollars and pay a lot of tax money and this is what we get in return...........Nothing............

My brother and his wife are going through the same stuff and it is so discouraging! She is from Brazil, they have been married four years and working on her green card f.o.r.e.v.e.r! She wants US citizenship so who knows how long that will take!

We just got back from Nick's surgery yesterday. I have the pictures up on my blog. It was amazing to watch it and see that they take the same precautions that they do when operating on a person. He is on stall rest for two weeks and then two weeks of hand walking and two weeks of being in a small paddock, or the indoor arena. After that we'll see how his spine looks. Wish they could talk!

Lots of gorgeous birds at your feeder! I have mostly chickadees.

The pictures are all great. Love the birds too.

It's such a shame about the immigration nonsense. How can this still be going on this long? You shouldn't have to pay the attorney any more money for button pushing, obviously someone dropped the ball here and it wasn't you. I hope you get some good news Monday. And you can start making some plans for your trip.

Government...nonfunctioning at times, I fear. Best of luck working through the problems so you can take the planned trip and enjoy yourselves!

I have a number of blue jays that eat my squirrel food. They are masters of the birdfeeder too. Then there is the flock of starlings...'nough said. But the cute little chickadees are precious. Interesting that I haven't seen many cardinals since the cold came in. Usually I have quite a few. Maybe they flew south of here.

The knee is looking good! Misty's going to be one happy girl to get out of solitary!

Looks like the ponies are doing well! Glad you're all hanging in during this cold weather! I know how frustrating that immigration stuff can be - one of my friends has been trying to get her mess sorted out for 5 years now. She went through the same thing, attorneys, etc...still no results. She's about to finish up her PhD and then she's afraid she'll have to leave. So stressful to have to deal with all that! Hope it works out for you and you can take your trip.

That is so frustrating. I hope it gets worked out soon.
Don't people suck?
At least the birds and horses are entertaining you and bringing you some joy.
I'm glad the knee is looking better, too.
Sure looks cold there.

I hope Misty's knee is 'mender' soon.
