We Have A New Family Member

This is Kota, pronounced "Koda". He is our newest family member. Koda is an 8yr Aussie Shepherd. He came to us yesterday afternoon. He is a very good boy and has already adopted Stephen as his and has become the office foot dog. He seems to be adjusting fairly well considering he spent most all of his life with his former family. Everybody, meaning all dogs are currently establishing their pecking order. So far, so good. He has eaten dinner and breakfast fine, pooped well outside and is peeing ok. Last night I layed on the floor with him at bedtime and we spooned. He gives very sweet kisses. I think it will take a little more time to fully adjust, but I have no doubt that he'll fit right in with this tribe. He wasn't too sure about the "big dogs" outside and they weren't too sure either, a few snorts directed toward him and this morning he discovered the goats with his little "stub" wagging away. He's done some exploring around the house and is getting used to his new surroundings. We'll make a Vet appointment for next week and bring all the dogs in. I have to get everyone started on their heart worm program. He has just seen his Vet, but we'll bring them all in anyway. Apparently Mr. Koda will sit in the car in a seat belt. That will be welcome change to our shotgun rider Mina who likes to stand between the front buckets. And he's a talker, much like Spot that way. Needless to say, once again we have fallen in love.

Good luck with your new guy. He's really cute. We have 3 Aussie's and I can tell you they are some of the smartest dogs I've ever owned, and they are really sweet too. I'm sure he'll like his new home and adjust fast.

How lucky for Kota to find a new home at 8 years old. So many people would not want an older dog. He has the wisdom of some years behind him and a future of even more wonderful ones as part of your menagerie. Congratulations!

Greeting Callie, Steven and Family! As Brian and I drove away from your home crying we felt a huge pressure lifted from our shoulders. We are very sad and happy at the same time. Kota is a Great dog and we are pleased that you have accepted him as part of your family! Thank you so much for welcoming him into your home. If you know of anyone who would like to adopt a Yellow Lab please let me know. We can’t thank you enough. :o)

Ashley, Not a problem, I know it was hard for you to do. He is doing better each day. He has already begun to play with us outside. It's hilarious because he doesn't know his own weight and he'll come hurldeling towards us in play and we all become bowling pins, LOL! He's getting along with everyone and fitting right in! And really full of sweet kisses! We already love him dearly, even our daughter who just came home yesterday has already had him sleeping in her room with her. :)
