Hope Everyone Had A Great Holiday...........

This first image, I'm sure most of you heard this sad and tragic news of a July 4th parade that turned disastrous. Here's the link http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/97767114.html . I found this tremendously sad and although this ended tragically for this parade, there were millions more that went on that day and no one was hurt.

Recently I had my old faded tattoo covered with this one. It's still in the healing process, hoping it will still look good as it's now in the flaking stage. Makes me want to get another one with horses on it. Hmmmmmmmm, maybe.

The girls are a bit sluggish this week as it's another hot and humid one......

Stephen and I took the goats and the dogs for walk around the property yesterday afternoon. They love their walks.

Zoe took this pic and at the time, says, "They always stop and stare at me, Mom."

And we still have a happy dog. I'll have to get some video of him playing. It's hilarious, he starts with a roll and a bark or two and then wants to play tag with Stephen. Kota will fly up into the air, twist sideways and slam Steve, knocking him to the ground. Too funny.

This is terrible - I can't imagine horses breaking loose like that, but it can happen.

There was a video of clydesdales taking off in a parade - something spooked the front two and they broke the harness, and four hooked together took off.

I wonder if these things will mean horses will be banned from parades...

That's one happy dog! So adorable!

Thanks for providing that link. I saw the ticker on CNN and meant to look for the details.

Oh my goodness that was one tragic accident with the horses! I had one of my ponies rub his bridle off while in harness and he flew around the pasture hitting the trailer before we got him stopped. Thankfully no one was hurt and he just got a couple of little scratches. So sad to hear about this incident and probably they won't allow horses any more.

Love your critter walk! Will the goats stay right with you or do you have to have them on a lead? I would love to have a couple of mini goats but the town won't let me.......grrrrrr........

Now that is one happy dog!!!!

Does it hurt to have a tattoo??????

Midlife Mom, Yes, the goats stay by our side,no leads, sometimes they'll wander into the horses, but usually only when we let them out without the walk and then it just takes a little grain and the dogs to get them back in. The tattoo, I don't think it hurts, stings a little maybe. ;)

Very sad what happened, that's for sure.

Hope you're not dying in the heat. Seems like most everyone is though.

I had not heard about the Parade accident -- we were in the Asheville NC area for a few days and were completely disconnected from what was going on in the world. How sad that is!! I just hate to see things like that...

Taking the goats for a walk is fun. We don't do it when our garden is in, because they think it is a smorgasboard! You are brave to take that many goats for a walk!!
