Back in the 20's you could buy just about anything for your farm through Sears including horse buggies, harnesses, fencing, even chicks.
So as I was looking through a 1922 Catalog I came across this page of saddles you could buy and thought the bloggers who visit would appreciate not only the prices but also that everything seemed to be included in the price. Just click the image for full size to make it readable

How cool! You could also buy houses... You purchased a kit and they sent you everything you needed to build your home. Those probably weren't just $12, though. ;o)

That was a lot of money back in those days. I wonder with inflation what that same saddle would cost today. Intersting stuff.

a rough guide is 12 1/2 Times so $100 in 1930 is worth about $1,260 in todays money

I just so happend to come about your blog and read some this post! It's crazy how cheep those saddles are! Now of days you see new saddles for thousands of dollars!

That is soo cool! I don't typically write in the 20th century, but I do have a story in mind set in 1929 if I ever get around to it. Lately, I'm writing in the 19th Century. I didn't know the Sears catalogs have all of that stuff.
