I really enjoy spending time with my horses. It keeps me grounded. I love their company, their smell, their personalities and the differences in them. It's daily, the time well spent. Even when I have to work and my husband feeds them in the morning and evening, I still take the time to talk to them when I get home from work in the morning and sometimes give them a treat. They appreciate the time I spend with them. I know they do. I know that in how they spend their time with me. I know that by the nuzzles I receive. The fact that when I'm out there with them, they come to me and drop their heads and let me touch them. I talk to them constantly, touch them, wrap my arms around their necks, kiss their noses, feed them, groom them, pick their feet, clean their space, staighten their blankets. We exercise and they let me ride them. I look forward to the warm days again so that I may spend even more time with them. I look forward to an afternoon spent laying in the pasture with them.

I hear you. I miss our horses so much. Next year, they'll be here. Lovely sunset.
Thanks Sarah, but believe it or not, that is a sunrise. Can't believe I was up that early....LOL
Me too, I can't wait for warmer weather and more daylight hours. It's too dang cold out there to even begin to untangle all of the manes that need care. I miss that time! But can't afford to lose my fingers to frostbite. Winter sucks.
BTW beautiful sunrise.
Thanks Mikael, I took that pic earlier this week. I thought it was gorgious
We are all waiting for Spring, by this time of year winter starts getting old. Two months to go and February is short, so really it's almost here.
Right now, I feel guilty Callie, as I AM enjoying warm weather like what you all are wishing for.... I spend time out with the horses each day, and letting the boys run wild in the sun. Wont be able to do quite that come June, but thats OK! We will adjust ;)
Great pic too. Love the shots you put up of the mares too.
GHM, At least when February is over, we can have a glimmer of hope. It just seems like such a ling winter this year and we had 6 more inches of snow last night....ugh!
Mrs.Mom, I envy you in the warm weather, Why not in June?
So right. I don't think most of us really appreciate just how wonderful horses are - until we see a 'bad 'un'!!!
Dickiebo, I've had a few of those "bad'uns" and for me even those found a place in my heart. :)
I am so with you on the warmer weather. Even here on the west coast we have had rain every week so spending the time with "my kids" that I normally would is slim to none :-( I love the warmer days when I can ride well into the night!!!
Thanks for visiting, Jen. I've got at least 6 more wekks of winter. Yuk! I always like it in the beginning, but I tire of it very soon and look forward to spring.
