Sad News For The Transylvanian Horseman

I know some of you follow Julian's blog documenting his life with Danielle as the Transylvanian Horseman . I've been reading his blog lately and it sounds as if he's been forced out due to a multitude of issues he has documented in his latest post, The end...... . He's headed back to England. It sounds as if he's taking his dogs, cats and two of his horses. The rest of the horses have been given away. I personally found the post both sad and frightening. If you haven't read this latest post, I strongly urge you to and maybe, like me, consider myself lucky to be in the position I'm in, happy to follow my dream and able to keep my girls right outside my door and not have the hassle of other elements forcing me to end my dream. I wish Julian and Danielle the best. I hope their travel out of that country is a safe one for them and their animals and I hope that he will continue to document their new life back in England. Godspeed and good luck to Julian and Danielle!

Where one door closes, often times another opens...

This may not be The End for Jullian, but maybe the beginning of another dream for him to follow.

We wish him the best as well...

I read his post in near disbelief. I know that he has been posting about the political problems but I guess I didn't pick up that he was that close to the limit of what he could bare.

The post nearly brought tears to my eyes. I can only imagine what it must be like to give up on such a dream. It seemed almost magical to me, it is truly Romania's loss that he is leaving.

It may be a new opportunity for him and Danielle, however, the cost of the move and the fact that property in England is very expensive. When you consider the cost of a studio flat in a not so great area of any city other than London, because London costs even more is at cheapest 170,000 pounds which is 350,000 dollars. Can you imagine what it might cost for a couple of acres and a barn? There is not a lot of land available. Believe me, with children over there and Steve and I having looked into it ourselves, it can be quite expensive. I say good luck to them.

I have checked out Julians blog a couple of times but had no idea that things were that bad in that country. Guess this goes to show that even with things going the way they are here in the good ole US of A that we certainly have it better than a lot of people do.

I was really saddened to read about that, too. How difficult to give up on a dream but how smart to know when it's time to go. I'll always be sorry I didn't have a chance to visit and ride with them.

I think they're very enterprising and probably have a much better idea for this new chapter in life. Can't wait to hear about it.

I hope he writes a book!
