Big Hat Midwest Pro Rodeo

Buckin' Bronc Rides.....

Timmermann's Drill Team from Island Lake, Illinois. These are the folks I bought Miss Kola from.

Jeremiah's buddy Bull Ridin'. Jeremiah used to be a pro bull rider. He was there with is little baby girl and his son. He saw us and snuck up on us and sat his devilish 1year old little girl on Steve's lap and oh she was a doll!

Steer wrasslin'............

And of course the Barrel Racers!
I slept 3 and 1/2 hours today after work and then made Steve take me to the rodeo! It was fun! Remember the Rodeo Song? Oh I do and I sang it all afternoon until we got there. It's a naughty song. A hot one played in the bars back in the early eighties. Look it up on You Tube once if ya don't remember it. Someone out there has to remember that song! Anyway the rodeo was a blast. The animals were in great condition. Last one I took Steve to was a few years ago and very disappointing as the animals were in poor shape and we couldn't stay and watch. This one I have to say had some real healthy lookin' animals, horses and cattle.

I occasionally go to a local kids' rodeo. The animals are always well cared for, but I get upset because so many kids get hurt during the calf riding. I've never seen a competitor fall off a horse. Those calves are the biggest threat. Even though they are smaller and less violent than bulls, they can still trample a child. I always wonder why people take those risks with their kids, but then I remind myself that it is a whole different culture. Thanks for the encouragement you have been giving me regarding my work with the horses.

Oh Arlene, if you're easily offended don't listen to the rodeo song! LOL

NuzMuz, Thankfully, the kids were all just spectators and the crazy clown gave a little girl a bicycle and the clown also played some games with the children in the audience but nothing that would hurt them.
