Step One

After step one.

Before step one.

Yesterday, I was busy out in the pasture. Trying to eradicate as many weeds as possible. I used the mower. I still have a long way to go. The weeds surprised me. Much worse once I got out there than I had imagined in just a few weeks as I'm out there to inspect every couple of weeks, but with this heat and previous rain, it was completely out of control. Even though I had seeded this spring with pasture seed, there was no grass to be found! I commenced step one, yesterday. Next week, step two, which will involve the industrial strength weed whacker to get the rest down. Then step three will involve the seed spreader again and a bag of weed killer and fertilizer. I'll try and hold off step three until September! This is a project! My fence line is a friggin' mess!

It's a lot of work, but it's looking better already. I despise weeds.

It looks much better. Don't work too hard. Enjoy your horses.

LOL, I think it's looks better too, but I think I planted weeds instead of pasture seeds this spring!

Oh, I know the feeling. I really, really need to find someone with a mower big enough to mow my weeds down. The pasture looks green and nice, but walk out there and it is ALL weeds. I have to get them mowed before they dry up and go to seed. This fall, I want to drag it again and plant grass seed. Of course that means I have to get my corrals finished so I can keep horses off of the pasture...oh man, it's project after project when you have horses-LOL.

BECS, I can't imagine the work cut out for you. I only have 2 acres and two horses and it seems it doesn't end...LOL
