A Quick Update.....................

Stephen apparently not very happy with his photo op! Mr.Pearson has been hobbling around and his office is still in quite a state. I don't dare touch his paper work! He has his first follow-up appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping he gets hard casted and all looks good. Not sure if I'll still make it to work Friday. We'll just see how he does and play it by ear. I did get approved for a few short hours of FMLA.

Of course, yesterday it nearly hit 60*F so I removed their blankets and now I'm feeling guilty because it has rained nonstop since last night. Although it's still in the 30's to 40's. I didn't notice any shivering and I don't want to put those blankets back on while they are soaked.

Miss Misty is muddy! I had to move the feeder towards the straw I had layed so that they don't stand in 6 inches of mud while eating! I hate this in between time of year.

Miss Kola waiting for me to get to it and feed them!

And then there are the normal antics..............

And mix a little or should I say a lot of mud! Makes for some fun and continuous house cleaning!

I hate mud. We've still got ice and some really dirty snow, but with the warm temps and rain due tonight, I'm betting that I'll have a lovely mix of mud and poop and maybe even a flooded stall or two tomorrow. You know that we'll probably get another snowstorm about mid-March, just to top everything off. Glad Steve is getting around and doing better.

Well Steve doesn't look like a happy camper. Tell him I wish him well at his appt.
I'm sure the girls are fine and they probably like the mud. I know mine were rolling in the snow the other day and the temps are warm again today, I think the snow will last a while longer since we are supposed to get some flurries Sat. night. So we're not dealing with mud yet.

We are tromping through the mud too. Warm temps and 2" of rain in 24 hours is equalling a big watery mess. Feels more like March around here than Feb.

Keeping fingers crossed Steve will get his hard cast!!

Yes, I hate this muddy season. This is my least favorite time of the year! The horses are always muddy and there is no way getting around it unless I had a ton of money! Which I don't.

Steve does not look happy! But, take it from me, after the first couple of weeks with an injured partner it gets better -- for both of you. Somehow a new routine develops. Yes, we are in a mudbath here, too. This in-between stage of seasons is the worst time of it. Just hope it passes quickly!

I do hope your hubby gets a cast on. He will be alot more mobile if he has one.

And I hate rain and mud. Horses and mud just don't mix. At least they have a good mom to move around their feeders so they aren't standing in deep mud. Hope it dries up for ya.

We haven't hit mud season yet around here but it's raining cats and dogs. I'd rather have snow at this point as school vacation is next week and the kids like to ski. This rain will probably ruin that. Sigh....

Glad Stephen is doing better. It sure will help to have the hard cast on I would think. Tell him we are all thinking of him!

Glad to hear he is doing well, hope he gets a hard cast.

Mud~we have lots of it here! Mud everywhere! It was windy yesterday which dried some of it up, but still mushy and water in places!

Hubby is not used to being laid-up, is he? He is not liking it. My only advice for you when he gets tired of it all and you get tired of it all: please dont kill him. Remember what a good hubby he is.... :)

Give Steve my good wishes too. May he heal quickly and learn to smile again sooner than later.

Our mud dried up in the hefty winds! (NJ)

My Boys are in light blankets again as it's a bit chilly...but dry, fortunately. I know how you feel about the horses' being wet. I hate that too.

The mud is a real problem to keep the house clean.
It won't last long. The spring will come soon.

Mud is just a fact of life around here in the winter. I hate it too but I suspect the horses rather like it. They sure do their share of rolling in it. Sounds like your girls do too. LOL

Sure hope that Steve gets his hard cast. That should make things a bit easier.
