The Girls Modeling Their New Halters..........

Another busy day for me. First, fill up the truck, send off the checks to the IRS, pay the accountant. Pick up grain for both horses and goats. Of course this can only start after another great goat caper and escape! How they opened the gate and squeezed out is beyond me. Then to grab a couple of bales of alfalfa for the goats. A quick stop at Walmart and TSC.

I had given the girls pasture time and when I got home, I wanted to get their hot pink halters on and in spite of a pocket full of treats, they gave chase. Dorks, Kola did her best impression of "Pepe Le Pew" and Misty hers of a wild mustang. Well, at least they got some good exercise and so did I. I did win in the end, hence the donning of hot pink halters!

Neither one of them impressed with it. Hey, they're supporting breast cancer! And they are girls!

Jack enjoying his freedom. Boy, that pup can sure leap!

Hilarious video of Mina and Jack. Mina sounds like a snorting pig and by her pudginess, she almost looks like one.

My sis would love the pink halters for her mares! That color would look great on them both. Do you leave the halters on all of the time? Are they breakaway? While dealing with My Boy's catching issue, he is wearing a breakaway. I hate that he has to, but until we get this sorted out, it's a necessity. Especially with recent health issues like his sarcoid, I can't deal with a difficult to catch horse when he needs medication applied every day! ;)

I like the halters too.

Pony girl, I usually do not leave the halters on all the time, however, since I've been giving them some pasture time, I've left them on and they are not break away. They are experts at removing the halters themselves. Usually, I find the halters laying out in the pasture.

The halters look great -- you should have a "pool" based on how long people estimate they will stay that way! (ha!!) If your mares are anything like ours, it won't be two days until they have spent some time in the mud!! And yes, goats are quite the escape artists, aren't they? We spent a lot of time barricading spots on our fencing that they managed to sneak out of. Little Houdini's!
