The First Baby of the Year

Here she is, a week late and worth the wait. She was born Sunday night. We think she will turn gray. She has dun markings. Gerald and picked up this mare to breed to Spider. I haven't had a Spider baby in awhile. This little girl is all go. I have never seen one with so much energy. Her Mama will be run ragged.

Oh, hooray!! Congrats!! She is so adorable!! I hope she turns gray for ya!! Those gray always start out so dark and then go through such funky color changes!! She is adorable!! Any names yet?? I am still holding out for my mare who is almost exactly a month late.

No names yet. We left her out last night for the first time. She really likes it outside. Andrea, have you had your mare checked? When mine went over 12 months last year I finally loaded her up and took her in. She had a false pregnancy. She looked like she was due, even bagged up. The local vets kept telling me she would come when she was ready. It took an ultrasound to find out it was false. We had to lutalace her to restart her heat cycle. I hope your baby comes real soon. That going out and checking in the middle of the night makes for a rough day.

Awww...she's a cutie!

Hey, how did your other colt turn out? The one that was injured. I was always curious to know if his hoof grew back?

What a beautiful little lady. Mom looks proud about her too. May she turn out to be all you wish for.

Thanks everyone! I just stand out there and watch her, she is a real fun baby. B.E.C. My colt that lost part of his hoof turned out great. It grew back with a little scar. He ended up with a small dish in his hoof from the way he was walking. My shoer said that will grow out. He should go on to be a cutter. I will get pictures this weekend.

Thanks everyone. Tammy, I think I like the now white. It will be easy to register this one. I had a lot of chrome last year. She has 3 or 4 white hairs on her forehead. Since she probably will turn gray they will disappear. I'm going to name her Callher Pistol. Her mom is Callher Smart and daddy is Silver Royal Pistol. She fits that name. Her barn name will be Bristol, that is much more feminine.
