Maybe Things Will Turn Around..............
This is our first Bluebird of the year.............Hope he sticks around. They have been depleted from this area over the decades but are now making a comeback.
callie, she is pretty! i have been seeing our blue birds lately too, but have not had the camera with me...everything will turn around for you...please believe it!
We usually have quite a few, but I have not seen any yet this year. Now that you have seen one, it probably won't be long before they show up in Indiana. I'll keep my eye out!
The farm where I used to board had special houses set up for the bluebirds. Maybe if you can research a bit and find a way to set up a house, they might stay around. I hear they are great about eating pests.
I'm not sure I've seen any here at my house. There is a noisy woodpecker, lots of robins, cardinals, finches, sparrows, etc. but not blue birds. My favorites are the barnswallows when they build their nests in my rafters. They get so bold when their babies hatch and will actually think about divebombing to keep all of us...horses included away.
At one barn, when it came time for the fledglings to learn to fly, a whole flock of adults showed up to do some demo flights and the little ones just couldn't help but join in. It was soooooo cool!!
What a beautiful blue bird! I don't think I have ever seen one here. Someone had a good suggestion of putting up some houses so they would stay around.
So sorry Callie to hear about your other kitty passing away. I know how hard it is to lose our furry friends. I lost my two old kitties within 10 days of each other. I think they just couldn't live without each other. It was so horribly sad. My thoughts are with you my friend! xoxox
Thanks all for the encouragement, We do have a few bluebird boxes around and our neighbors do too. They like them further away from other birds, so I have a plan to attach one this spring to a tree nearer the pasture and further from the house, We usually get them every year!

Bluebirds! Now, that should just make your day!
Nice that they're making a comeback! Pretty little birds...we've not got them here.
What a pretty blue bird! I haven't seen one of those in forever! We have cardinals here. Hopefully it's a sign that spring weather is on it's way!

Hope the Bluebird of Happiness sticks around.
