Update on Joe's Horse Sky

Well, I promised some update photos on Sky. If you remember her coat was bad as well as she was dangerously thin and the problem wasn't lack of nutrition but over feed and not the right nutrition. Joe is continuing his regimen and going out today to get some more Vitamins. Clearly she still has a serious lack of weight gain, but that can sometimes be a slow process, but her coat and gut look tremendously better, in my opinion. I'm glad he's working so hard to help her and willing to share this with us. I do think she is looking a little better and it's only been a few weeks actually, so way to go, Joe and here's hoping all your efforts will work. As she gains, I'll ask for more photos to document her progress.

Go Joe!

Remember too-- when a horse has been in rough shape for a while, weight gain can be quite a slow process. Looks to me like Sky is gaining well at an OK pace. Keep doing what you are doing JOe, and know we aren't all mean snakes out here in the equi-blogoshpere ;)

PS- Callie-- your girls look GOOD!! Mina and my Jo? Same problem!! LOL If I cut Jo back any more on food intake, she'll be eating air soon. Have to get her to the vet for a work up I think...

She definitely looks better, though I agree with you, she needs to put on some more weight still. It has been just over a month (I just checked) so I would think in another month or so we shouldn't be seeing her ribs anymore.

I ditto that Mrs Mom, getting any malnourished animal or human for that matter back to full swing is a slow process and should be. If it goes too fast, than there can be all sorts of electrolyte imbalances and issues as well. Thanks All, for weighing in on this and I'll make sure Joe sees the encouraging words. ;)

As they say, "Slow and steady wins the race." Looks like some good progress with Sky. Keep up the good work, Joe.

I'm happy to see that Sky is looking better. I'm sure she feels better too. Way to go Joe, keep up the good nutrition and she'll be fine in her own time frame.
