The Best Layed Plans

Well, today I had planned on cleaning out the Lean-To for the girls. A fair amount of horse poop, but nothing I couldn't clear in about thirty minutes, however, because it warmed up last night and then froze again by morning, my wheel barrow has now frozen into the ground. Even at my best efforts with a decent spade shovel, I was unable to release it from the grips of winter. And I now have to be creative where I throw hay for the girls because the pen and paddock have turned into an ice rink. Poor girls are walking gingerly over the crappy frozen ground to keep from sliding. The picture above was the snow the day before it all changed to ice with a dusting now over it. The other picture is Fido, who managed to get himself locked in the goats' pen the other day after they had escaped once again. The small animals in this household are on my naughty list right now as Fido has eaten at the horse apple buffet yet once again and promptly came indoors to puke in my kitchen. Rotten retard cat, Cheryl, has dove into kitchen garbage can and poured it all over the floor. I am so sick of Winter.........Looking so forward to the days of open doors where cats and dogs willingly go outside to vomit and catch mice and I can keep horses' area clean and turn them out to pasture without worries.

I came home today to bird feathers all over my kitchen and dining room with a half eaten bird laying there deader then a doornail! Then went into the living room and some one had puked up a fur ball. I'm with you, we need good weather so these guys can do their thing outside!!!

LOL.......been there too many times, just last week had the bird feathers and bits of wings all over living room. I've got one that goes outside to retrieve gift of live mouse and have it left on my desk area, only to move an envelope and be greeted by live mouse with lazy cat laying there letting it terrorize me.

I'd offer to trede you guys the skeeters we have right now, but that just would not be fair. These suckers grow huge-- large enough that I have to watch my 30# child, so that the damn things dont drag him off in the bushes to tenderize and eat later.....

Really large fly swatters, anyone? ;)

We have pretty good natural skeeter control here with bats and barn swallows. The flies can be unbareable, so this year I'm ordering fly predator.........

Amen to that.

I can't wait for this winter to be over either. I'm getting pretty darn grumpy over this crappy weather.

hahahaha...you're so funny.

Cat vomit...gross stuff manard.

I hate it when they puke right in the doorway of your bedroom and when you wake up at 4am to go to work you walk half asleep straight into a pile of cold mushy vomit...wonderful way to start the day!

Hey--you need a poop sled! Check my blog archives for the poop sled picture--I don't even know where I put my wheelbarrow! Makes life a lot easier, even if the ground is soft-ish or deep snow. I don't have to use the ATV; if it's too squishy, I just pull it by hand (or with child labor)! :)
