Thought I would Provide Some Light Relief

As you may or may not know I run a site called The People History and each day I publish a This Day In History which includes 2 or three videos related to that day so I thought I would share some of the interesting videos I have featured This Month

1st
Interesting story from 24th February called Battle of Los Angeles 1942
Why was the ?? never hit or if it was hit why not damaged

2nd
February 22nd 1990
I have been lucky enough to see Tina Turner Live twice in my life and her stage shows are unbelievable ( How she keeps up her level of energy blows me away )

3rd
February 18th 1930
Dust Storms 30s Although many are going through hard times currently we need to think ourselves lucky ( I have been lucky enough to have had some memories added by people who lived through those hard times they are eye opening

4th
19th February, 1945
Iwo Jima 1945 , We should never forget those who have faught in earlier wars and current wars to protect our safety and freedom ( whatever our politics ) these men fight and die for their country

5th
17th February 1967

As a child of the 50's it is impossible for me not to remember everything the Beatles produced and this is one of my personal favourites.

6th
1st February, 2003

Mans quest for learning and invention provides many leaps forward and the technology developed during man's quest to conquer space , but it must also be remembered those who helped advance man's knowledge many lost their lives

hope you enjoy the range of videos , it never ceases to amaze me what i find for each month that I find interesting I hope you do to

Having been born in the early 50's I can relate to some of these the others are just interesting to watch. Love Tina! Wish I could harness some of that energy.

Very cool! Amazing what's out there to be discovered, and the visual impact of watching stuff happen sure beats reading about it for events we didn't live through.

Fortunately, or not, I remember most of the events--except for the WWII story. What amazes me is how many videos are now readily available on the Internet. You can find almost anything if you know how to search for it. Noticed too that now Amazon, the bookseller is offering online videos for a nominal rental fee.

Thanks for that trip through time.

Oh my goodness, I used to LOVE Tina Turner, and yeah, how does she get her legs to look like that? I am so jealous!

There is a splendid aside to the "Battle of Los Angeles", that General MacArthur got to hear of it and telegraphed in jest from the Philipines where he was fighting a real battle: "if you can hold on for 24 hours then I'll arrive with reinforcements!"
