Captured this youngin' just prior to leaving the nest............... I love our barn swallows.
This fellow is a tough one to capture....... Look closely, it's like he's suspended in mid-air, well, in a sense he is..........
This is the first year, I've actually seen such a vivid male Ruby Throated Hummingbird and he is at that feeder non-stop!

I just love the pictures of your hummers! I just don't get them here much and the foolish ants keep getting in the feeder-GAG-so I took it down.
My barn sparrows are gone too. Don't have swallows but do have the sparrows. I love watching them feed the little ones and miss them when they are gone. She had three clutches this summer! One busy mom!
It's HOT here finally! I'm going to don the ole bathing suit-GAG again-and head over and swim with the grands!
I love my barn swallows too. They are so funny when I go out at night and turn on the barn lights as they scold and scold me. Then, I try to turn off the lights again in progression so if they have started to fly around they can get back to roost before it's totally dark again.
I think, though, that all the nests are now empty too. If so, I'll miss my little rascals.
I have a friend who has all kinds of feeders by his house and buys special varieties of food for each kind of bird. I'm kind of a generalist with the feed myself. After all, when you have everything from tiny wrens to wild turkeys coming to the feeder.....'nough said. *lol*
Some beautiful photos thank you for sharing them with us. Keep up the good work.
Such neat photos!! We have a lot of those same birds here. The barn swallows used to nest in our barn every spring but have not for the past couple of years, and we miss them. We do get some of the ruby-throated hummingbirds and the green ones. Love your flowers!!
